Psychotherapy for Couples and Individuals

Embrace your own experience so that you can come home to yourself.

Registered Psychotherapist

I am a human first and a psychotherapist second. I offer you my humanity, not my perfection. I know therapy works because I have lived it too. Having social resources, whether from family, friends, community, or a therapist, is just as important to the brain as glucose and oxygen. We all need support from one another otherwise we’d be living on mountain tops alone. Since we  are wired for connection from birth, I believe a major part of my work is to support my clients in building strong relationships with themselves and with others. I am but scaffolding until then and happy to be so.

My Approach

What does it mean to be a human in the 21st century? While the reasons for seeking therapy haven’t changed a lot in the last hundred years, the deluge of things that require our attention (or distract our attention thanks to technology) are  at an all time high. Technology has brought convenience and easy access to communication but at the same time added more challenge to genuinely connecting with one another and to navigating living in our current times.

While I am trained in a variety of approaches, my primary modalities are Psychodynamic and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) which uses the attachment lens. I help clients work through current conflicts, make sense of relational struggles and support them in building or rebuilding the emotional resources required to thrive in their lives. My role as a therapist is to listen to my clients when they share their concerns.  Then we  mutually decide  what the goals of our sessions  will be.  As we move forward, I use whatever technique is appropriate to support my clients in reaching those goals. I am open minded about the variety of ways that clients can support themselves in and outside of therapy as we are unique individuals and what may work for one, doesn’t necessarily work for another. We can get there how and at whatever pace feels right for them.

Please know that no matter who you are or what  brings you here, you are worthy of care.

I am a Registered Psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO)  providing teletherapy (via phone and video) to couples as well as individuals 18 years and older. I offer a free initial consultation of 25-50 minutes. It allows us to meet and chat a little more about what is bringing you to therapy at this time and ask me any questions about the way I work to see if this will be a good fit.

If you would like to book a consultation, please provide some windows (days and times) of availability for you when you reach out. You can reach me via email or telephone. I wish you well and look forward to hearing from you.
